Leighton Buzzard is an expanding market town in the south-west corner of Bedfordshire.
Much of the town’s history and character are still retained in its buildings:
the High Street and its shopping mews are flanked by the Market Square with its
15th Century Market Cross at one end and by the 13th Century parish church of All
Saints at the other. The High Street is also the site of a lively twice weekly street
market together with a regular farmers’ market. |
|
Surrounding woodland and heathland together with the Grand Union Canal, picturesque
villages and several stately homes, provide endless opportunities for a variety
of leisure activities. For families in particular, there is the popular Leighton
Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway and just a few miles away you will find Whipsnade Zoo,
one of Europe’s largest wildlife conservation parks, and also Woburn Safari
Park and Abbey. |
